Material Handler



Manufacturing CO. of paper products such as plates and trays is looking to hire Material Handler for there location in Groveville, IL.


-High School Diploma or Equivalent
-Fork Lift Certification (verifiable-current)
-Read and Write English
-Basic Math Skills, basic computer skills
-Heavy Physical effort performing
-Able to Lift 20-50 lbs
-Ability to Stand, walk, sit,reach outward,above shoulder, climb, crawl, squat, kneel , bend
-Continuous mental/ visual attention required


-Operate Fork Lift
-Identify Materials. i.e. Regrinds, Virgins and Additives
-Clean and Change the Filters on Auxiliary Equipment. i.e. Blenders,
- Dryers, Vacuum Pump and Stabilizers
-Assist Extrusion Operators with given direction
- Move stock and other materials to and from storage and production areas by hand or other equipment
-Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments, material and equipment needs
-Ability to hand build pallets per MO
-Attach identifying labels to containers and/or mark them with identifying information
-Secure material and products for transport to designated areas by suing the stretch-wrapper machine
-Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards
-Maintain his or her area in neat condition
-Assist other workers with specific chores as required
-Follow plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices , or GMPs
-Supports the Plants Food Safety initiatives by completing plant required Food Safety training and by implementing /complying with the required practices.
-Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines
-Knows Emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failure, workplace injuries, etc.
-Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
-Understand and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
-Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately.
-Actively participates in the D&W safety improvement process/activities e.g. Hazard Identification, Safety suggestions, Safety Teams, etc.


-Extruder and Auxiliary Equipment
-Use of Personal Protective Equipment
-Safety Devices and Precautions
-Forklift Training
-Proper Instructions on Running the Job
-Quality Inspection Process
-Process on handling unacceptable Raw Material
-Explanation of Finished Product
-Explanation of Procedures for End of Shift or Job Completion
-Communication with incoming shift
-Lift Training Procedures

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position employee may be exposed to extreme heat, moving mechanical parts , product with sharp edges. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
