Maintenance Tech II

JobDescription:

Attention Candidate: This position is located in Saginaw , TX

General Purpose: Responsible for inspecting freezer equipment and performing basic maintenance duties as necessary.

Essential Functions:
• Able to perform all of the duties of the Maintenance tech 1
• Routinely inspect freezers and freezer equipment
• Inspect equipment daily
• Evaluate integrity of freezer equipment and determine potential or actual equipment failure
• Report any problems to the maintenance supervisor
• Perform preventative maintenance repairs on the freezers as well as any other equipment needed
• Perform basic maintenance duties for equipment as necessary
• Understand plant refrigeration systems and boiler operations and be able to start and stop all systems according to proper procedures
• Able to troubleshoot and repair refrigeration systems as necessary
• Perform emergency shut down and repair operations on freezers, boilers, and refrigeration systems
• Perform welding repairs as necessary
• Maintain and monitor all plant refrigeration systems for efficient operations
• Understand ammonia characteristics, properties, dangers, and know proper handling procedures
• Routinely inspect equipment and perform preventative maintenance
• Specialize in preventative maintenance for forming, cooking, and packaging equipment
• Perform basic maintenance duties
• Understand electrical control and be able to follow a schematic
• Know how to determine amps per motor horsepower
• Understand and troubleshoot 24 VDC
• Understand hydraulic and pneumatic systems and be able to draw a simple schematic of motors, valves, and flow control
• Understand and perform electrical shutdown procedures
• Understand the fire system operation and where the valves are located
• Able to operate and setup all equipment in the plant
• Maintain all records and documents

Responsibilities
• Keep work area clean and free of clutter and debris
• Follow all food safety (GMP) and general safety guidelines
• Complete other tasks as assigned

Basic Job Requirements
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Frequently work in an extremely hot and cold environment
• Extensive knowledge of refrigeration systems, hydraulics, boilers, and basic freezer equipment
• Extensive knowledge of plant operations and equipment
• Must be able to trouble shoot electrical issues 80% of the time
• Three years of previous refrigeration experience
• Read, write, and understand English at a technical level
• Complete basic math problems
• Lock out required

Training Requirements
• Must complete RETA 1 Training
• Must complete Ammonia level 1 training
o (Garden City Community College courseware)
• Must be able to read and understand SOP’s
• Member of PSM/RMP committee
• HACCP
• HAZCOM
• Hearing Loss Protection

2nd shift is 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm
3rd shift is 10:00 pm to 6:00 am


Starting Pay- $23.00 per hour
