**First shift position**

SUMMARY OF WELDER TECHNICIAN:
Company that manufactures Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) for a variety of applications including building materials, protective packaging, and marine flotation is looking for a Welder Technician with a flexible schedule.


REQUIREMENTS OF A WELDER TECHNICIAN:
• Manufacturing or light industrial work experience preferred.
• Must be able to use simple math and use basic hand held measuring tools (i.e., ability to read a tape measure within 1/32”)
• Welding experience
• Able to work productively with minimum supervision
• Able to work flexible hours – overtime without prior notification
• Able to work in a fast pace environment


RESPONSIBILITIES OF A WELDER TECHNICIAN:
• Must be able to interpret mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbols.
• Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various metal alloys.
• Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set-up parameters (amps, volts, ect).
• Knowledge on use of conventional and precision measuring instruments.
• Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
• Must be able to fit, lay-out and fabricate structures/metal components.
• Temporarily tacks metal components/parts into place, then ‘fits’ them into proper position.
• Once fitting is complete permanent weld is completed on metal component.
• Performs any range of difficult and unusual hand fitting and welding operations.
• Plans operations, selects sets and prepares welding equipment supplies and materials.
• Position fits and clamps units for tack and permanent welds.
• Performs required tests, clean welds and moves materials and units as required.


SCHEDULE AND PAY OF A WELDER TECHNICIAN:
• Monday to Friday (Saturdays as needed)
• 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
• $14.00 to $15.00 / hr. depending on experience
